“Our match against Al Wahda is so critical and I assure you that all Al Ain squad are held accountable toward our Club’s logo, particularly following losing our recent match against Al Sharjah in matchround 17 and for the first time in our fervent competition to seal the title of Arabian Gulf League,” said the Captain of Al Ain FC Omar Abdul Rahman in the pre-match press conference dedicated to the top clash “Derby” match between Al Ain and Al Wahda. He further explained: “We are taking up again, with Al Allah Al Mighty willing, and the head start will be our confrontation against Al Wahda. We have no doubt that the technical and administrative staff would spare no efforts to prepare the team in the right manner to achieve the desired goals.”

On the influence of losing the match against Al Wahda in the Arabian Gulf Cup by 5-1 on the players’ motivations, he commented: “I do believe that such match is something of the past and has zero impact on the players. We have a new challenge in a completely different competition. Our goal in Al Ain Club as players along with the technical and administrative staff and the fans is clear-cut, that is to sustain our top spot in the standing table of the league with all due respect to the ambitions of the opponent’s aspirations.”
