Al Ain Dutch coach Alfred Schreuder confirmed that his team’s preparations for the match against the Saudi Al Fayha are going well and said: “Today we will conclude our trainings for tomorrow’s match and apply the plan we will adopt in the game and we are well aware that our opponent is a strong and organized team with talented players”.

Commenting on a question about the opponent’s open playing style, he said, “We are well aware of the opponent’s style as I mentioned, Al Fayha is a good team that relies on defensive organization. However, our focus is always on imposing our style and controlling the course of the game because we need to think about how we play against the opponent in a way that allows us to achieve our targets”.

Schreuder also emphasized that he knows a lot about the Saudi football and watched some matches for Al Hilal, Al Nasr, and Al Ittihad. He also pointed out that he is aware that Al Fayha’s coach, Razovitch who is an expert in the UAE league and added, “As I mentioned, for us, the most important thing is to focus on ourselves. If our performance is good, the points will definitely be achieved but if we couldn’t get the three points, at least we should aim for a draw”.

Regarding the squad he selected in the last match against Al Nasr in the semi-final first leg of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank League, despite having international players, Schreuder said, “We relied on a group of players who hadn’t had a chance in previous matches as I introduced some new players because the international players weren’t physically fit due to the delayed arrivals of some, like Alejandro Kaku and Park.”

“I believe it’s wise to rely on players who hadn’t had a chance since the beginning of the season. The match against Al Nasr was a perfect opportunity for them, and it’s important for everyone to have a chance to participate because the win belongs to the whole team”, he added.
