Pedro Emmanuel: We Deserved to Win and Qualify to the AFC Groups Stage

Portuguese Pedro Emmanuel, Al Ain head coach, stated that his squad deserved to win the Bunyodkor Team and qualify for the Groups Stage of the AFC Champions League 2020, specifically Group D.

In the media conference held after the match, he stressed that his team performed well in the two halves and played in a balanced manner. “The players’ performance was good, and I already instructed them to with balance and be highly focused throughout the match 90 minutes. They implemented the plan, and it is good to win this match.”

He highlighted that the Boss squad created several chances to score, specially Laba Kodjo. “We tried our best to score during the first half, but we missed the chance to do so. However, we entered the pitch in the second half with a strong belief that we will not give a chance to the Uzbek team to score while we were so determined to succeed in visiting their net.”

He added: “It is so important that we win the match with a clean sheet. Indeed, we deserved to snatch the qualifying card to the groups stage.”
The Portuguese coach addressed a message to the Ainawi Nation, calling upon them to attend the upcoming match of the AFC Champions League. He said: “I wish to see more fans in the next match. We need to see the fans next to us. We need to see stands of this amazing stadium full of fans.”
