Pedro: We Are to Improve Our Performance, and Will Not Put the Players’ Safety at Risk
- “This current stage is a critical step to start the upcoming season,” Pedro Emmanuel stated by the end of his squad match against Bani Yas held tonight at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.
He pointed out: “We did not play well in the first half against Bani Yas. We all understand the importance of giving a chance for every and each player, which is more important than the result, as well as evaluating the team’s performance with sights set to improve negative aspects. We are in a critical stage of the team’s preseason preparations through which we aim to improve the players’ individual skills to boost the team’s performance a whole.”
“We made certain changes in the lineup to improve the team’s performance, and as you know, it is not easy to play with a full squad, and it is not easy to play against eleven players while your team is down by one,” he added.
On his assessment of the match, he said: “I am satisfied with players’ performance, especially in the second half. Although we did not win, the team’s condition is good as we did not have any injured player compared to the previous match against Al Dhafra, where Bu Send was sent off the pitch with an injury in his knee.”
He put an accent on the principle he adopts that he would not put the safety of the players at risk in preparation for the team’s match against Al Wahda. “This is very important for the players and me who know well that they are playing for a big club and should do their best to keep up with the high level of performance through hard work during training sessions.”
