So Keen to Assess the Team’s Performance Currently and Plan to Have A Strong Start

In an interview with Al Ain TV Channel after the end of his team’s friendly match against Al Dhafra of Abu Dhabi Clubs Friendly Tournament, coach Pedro Emmanuel stated that he is satisfied with the team’s performance.

“We are still at the beginning, which pushes us to exert more effort in preparation for the new season, given that we have great challenges during September. The current period is critical as we exerted lots of effort in the past period, and we have to assess the team’s performance,” Pedro said.

He added: “I believe that the team’s level is good in the first friendly match. The Boss dominated the match and were the best during the whole minutes of the match. By the end of the match, we achieved the desired gains as we controlled the match, and lines were organized and in players were playing in a good rhythm. This is what we are aiming to achieve! Also, the players’ performance at the physical and individual levels was satisfactory despite the high temperatures; results of such matches are not important.”

Pedro pointed out that he gave a chance for all the squad players on the bench, and most of them are young players who did not play in the past season. “We evaluated their performance and quality skills. This is not only important for the players but also the coaching team.”

Commenting on the new players who recovered from their injuries, he said: “The new players are still in their first stage of adapting to the team and the style of playing we focus on during training sessions. Also, we are giving a chance for players who did not play many matches in the past season, such as Rayan Yaslam, Mohammed Jamal and other players who did not have the chance to play like Mohsen Abdullah and Jamal Marouf who usually play in certain times of the match and always makes the difference.”

“We already spotted certain weaknesses and will try our best to improve them. I have already stated that friendlies are very important to boost our readiness, and we look forward to having a strong start in our first official match.”

As for how serious is the injury of the goalkeeper Bu Senda, he stated: “Indeed, we did not have enough time to evaluate his injury and hope it will be a minor one. In the few coming days, we will receive an official medical report on his injury in the knee as he was subject to medical checkup and MRI to have a confirmed response about his status. At any rate, his condition is stable.”

Pedro stated that coaching teams would ensure all the players’ conditions following the end of the first friendly match through the recovery programs.
