Hailed the Players’ Efforts and Addressed Special Thanks to Mohammed Ahmad

So thrilled by the victory his team achieved, Pedro Emmanuel stated that he was aware that the match against Al Nasr will not be easy and that the team experienced hard times during the match. However, he stressed that the squad played impressively due to their fighting spirit, commitment to the plan, and strong desire to win.

“The opponent showed their genuine performance since the beginning of the season. We did have a plan, and the players were committed to implementing it in the right way, especially after minute 25 of the match when Bandar was sent off the pitch with a red card in his pocket. We did it despite the current hard conditions we are facing,” the Head Coach of Al Ain stated in the post-match press conference dedicated to the matchweek 10 of the Arabian Gulf League.

Pedro pointed out that he had no problem saying that his team was lucky enough in certain times of the match, but “we won because of the fighting spirit and being accountable.”

He added: “As you know, we are only competing in the league right now, and we are committed to working hard. Last week, we were the worst team following we were held to draw to Ajman Team. However, today we are the best by winning Al Nasr at home, and this is football!”

“We won three points amidst hard times. We miss many players and would like to congratulate the players as of the kickoff whistle until the end of the match. I also congratulate our fans who also experienced exceptional hard times since the commencement of the season.”

Responding to a question of whether wining Al Nasr means that the team is back to compete to win the title, he said: “Since the beginning of the season, we are facing tough times. Indeed, we do not have the weapons that our opponents enjoy. Following our participation in the AFC Champions League 2020, we have been suffering from injuries and many absent players. All the players spare no effort to win, but this is not enough, and this is a fact everyone knows. In January, there will be changes in the lineup of the team for sure.”

As for his assessment of Mohammed Ahmad’s performance, he said: “Absolutely, all the players were committed to implementing their tasks as planned. They showed their real fighting and challenging spirit and the desire to win the three points.”

He pointed out that Mohammed Ahmad was away for three months and a half due to injury, and “when I asked him to join the team, he did not hesitate to say yes. Saeed Jumaa is injured, and although Mohammed is not in form, he fought bravely, and I congratulate him for his heroic performance and would like to thank him for his dedicated efforts tonight.”
