Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain FC, Zoran Mamic, congratulated his team on their stunning and deserved victory over a good team, Shabab Al Ahli Dubai. He emphasized: “Al Ain now outperforms all their competitors which is always proved by the team’s performance on the pitch because it is the real determinant in the criteria of comparison between all competitors.”

Al Ain coach hailed the mentality of his professional players, stressing that they did not give up and doubled their desire to increase the number of goals despite the fact that they took the lead by scoring their first, second and third goals to confirm that the “Boss” enjoy a German mentality in dealing with such clash matches.

“I do not really think about the results of my team’s matches during the preparation period or the forecasting processes as much as I focus on good preparation to do our best and show the best performance on the pitch,” he said in response to a question on whether he expected achieving such a big result against a strong team.

He added: “I am very proud of my players and the strong personality of the “Boss” despite the attempts of Shabab Al Ahli Dubai but in no vain and they failed to score.” He commended his technical team by saying: “I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the assistant coach, fitness coach, medical staff and the therapists for their great efforts they exerted before and during the season to ensure that the players are fully ready for all their challenges scheduled to play this season.”

Commenting on a question on whether he expects that his team’s mission will be easy in the final match of the President’s Cup compared to their recent impressive performance and strong results, he said: “Certainly, our final mission will not be easy, no matter how strong the team is, i.e. Al Wasl or Al Wahda. they both are strong teams and we always analyze the performance of the opponent team and do respect the aspirations of all clubs in all confrontations.”

On the media reports addressed the issue of his contract and whether he is leaving Al Ain or will renew his contract and whether the club is planning to retain Ahmad Khalil, he said: “As for Ahmed Khalil, I recommended him to stay with the team as we need his services and my recommendation was to extend his contract. As for me, I am staying with Al Ain.”
