In the pre-match press conference dedicated for matchweek 8 between Al Ain and Bani Yas, Zoran Mamic stated that his team is again facing a new challenge on Sunday when playing against Bani Yas. “We all do understand that our mission will not be easy, specially after losing the last match to Al Sharjah. Our coming match is of a great importance and we are required to redouble our efforts and show our best and genuine performance to make use of the chance and snatch the three points.”

He added: “I am not happy at all by the result of the last round match as nobody like to lose. We are required to be stronger, highly focused and more efficient than our last match.”

On the team’s preparations for the match against Bani Yas, he said: “In fact, the time space between our match against Al Sharjah and this match is very short. This means that all trainings will be no more than recovery sessions and practicing certain tactics.”

“We are suffering certain minor injuries following the end of our match against Al Sharjah. However, we still have 48 hrs prior the match and hope things will be good. I will select the ready to go players and suffering no injuries,” Zoran responded to a question on his team’s absences.

Expressing his opinion regarding the opponent’s level of performance, Zoran said: “Bani Yas is a very good team who performed well this season as any other strong team in the league, including Al Jazira, Al Wahda and Al Wasl. This team was able to score even from half chances which is a great result compared to the number of matches they played in the league until the last round. Anyway, we have to concentrate from the first until the last minute.”

Zoran Mamic addressed a message to the fans stating “As usual, we are always in deep need for the support of Al Ain fans; not only in happy moments but also in hard times. I do not think we are experiencing bad times, but we only lost two matches and we need the massive support of our loyal fans to be able to overcome difficulties and back again to right track of victories and make our fans happy all the time.”
