Al Ain Fans Grant Us a Genuine Feeling of Happiness, and We Promise Them to Fight Hard in the Next Match

“I felt so happy to see Al Ain fans in the previous match despite losing the derby match. All the players understand what they are meant to do in the next match and fight hard in favor of the fans,” Sergiy Rebrov stated in the pre-match press conference of matchweek 7 of ADNOC Pro League against Al Nasr.

Ahead of the match scheduled to be held at Al Maktoum Stadium on Saturday, 21st October 2022, at 08:00 p.m., Rebrov promised the fans to spare no effort in the coming match to make them happy.

Responding to a question on vigorous competition among the teams to top the standing table, the head coach of the Boss squad stated: “As you mentioned in your question, we have already played six matches, and the difference between Al Ain and the top team is only four points. Indeed, teams in this league are still losing points.”

Rebrov added that the UAE football league is interesting, pointing out that he stated earlier that there are five teams at least competing to win the league title.

“These five teams try their best to prove their eligibility to play in the league and win its title, and this is what makes it interesting; any team might lose points in their journey in the league.”

He added: “When talking about competition, we must only talk about our next match and be serious, and then we will see what will happen.”

Rebrov stressed that the Boss squad should enjoy a high concentration level when preparing for all matches, while “it is important to show our genuine character of the team on the pitch.”

He mentioned that he talked to the players following the team’s derby match and that they did not show maximum enthusiasm despite the massive number of fans behind the team.

“All of us know the mistakes committed, and we also analyzed that match and the previous matches. Personally, I know that all players should enjoy a different level of desire and motives to play such type of matches, and the players should understand that well,” Rebrov said.

He also mentioned in press conferences that the team won two titles last season, but this season the team should start from scratch and work hard to reach the level they enjoyed in the previous season.

Rebrov went on to say that each match is essential for the team and that the next game against Al Nasr is important. “We are preparing for it so seriously. I am sure that the players understand that well and would play with high enthusiasm and positivity.”

As for special preparations for the next match: “Each match has special importance, and prepare for it differently, of course, all teams of this league are of superb levels, and we prepare the players in special ways when facing opponents. It does not matter whether we are playing at home or away, we analyze the opponent’s playing style and explain that to the players. We must focus on our team’s affairs and show our strength on the pitch. Indeed, no team will be generous enough to grant us the match’s points; we must fight to snatch them.”

Assessing the opponent’s current status, he commented: “I believe that Al Nasr is an aggressive team and create chances to score. Therefore, they deserve a better position at the standing table. Meanwhile, we have to play seriously with this team. I still remember the second leg away match of last season against Al Nasr and winning them, and we were the last season’s champions. Rafael Pereira scored from a corner shot. Therefore, I can say that Al Nasr is a strong team when they play on their field. However, I can assure you that it will be an interesting and tough team.”

As for the players expected not to play the next match: “Some players suffered from the flu, but nothing serious, and there are no injured players. I am sure they all are waiting impatiently to play the next match.”
