This morning, Al Ain First Football Team player, Mohammad Abbas, underwent a successful cruciate ligament surgery at Cromwell Hospital in London’s English capital by Dr. Andy Williams, a consultant knee surgery.

Noteworthy, Mohammad Abbas underwent the necessary medical examinations ahead of the surgery. Unfortunately, the results confirmed that he had a ligament tear that required surgical intervention.

Al Ain midfielder stated: “I enjoy high morale after surgery. Injury always represents a disturbing concern for football players, but I believe it is my destiny, and completely satisfied with what happened to me. I pray to God to help me overcome this difficult time in my football career. I know well what I am meant to do to overcome it in the right manner.”

Abbas added: “I believe that past season was historical for me. I won with the Boss the first double trophies in the team’s journey to defend the badge of the biggest Emirati club and one of the best clubs in Asia. Although I was injured, it was an exceptional season for me, as I could maintain my name in the team’s starting line-up and won the second PLC Pro League Cup and the 14th title of the Pro League in the history of our club. This in itself motivates my colleagues and me to continue to reap more achievements, and I wish all my teammates all the best.”

Abbas expressed his most profound appreciation and gratitude to the management of Al Ain Club for taking care of him since he was exposed to injury and checking upon his medical status.

He stated: “They directed who are in charge to provide him with the required assistance and the best and fastest means of medical treatment to overcome this injury.”

Abbas went on to say: “I would also like to thank the medical staff, my fellow players, and the coaching teams led by the head coach Sergiy Rebrov, who is always keen to boost our morale. Also, not to forget the vital role of the administration staff led by Abdullah Ali, who is our big brother, for their dedication to providing the ideal atmosphere for the players, their commitment to check upon him, and their continuous contact to ensure I enjoy good conditions an encourage me to boost my morale. Indeed, this makes me feel happy and content.”

In response to a question about the rehabilitation programs that he will undergo after the surgery, he said: “Based on the recommendation of the medical team, it was decided to start the rehabilitation programs here in London, under the supervision of the medical staff who performed the surgery.”

He concluded his statement: “I am well aware of what I am meant to do in the next stage. I know it is an important stage and that I need to double up my efforts and focus well to rejoin my teammates’ training session. Finally, he wished himself and fellow players all the best of luck in the next season.”
