This evening, Al Ain Football Club has officially announced the renewal of the contract of the Ukrainian head coach, Sergiy Rebrov, until June 2023, to continue to lead the team for the next season.
The announcement comes after the concerned parties agreed to activate the renewal clause in the head coach’s contract to resume his responsibilities for an additional season before the expiry of the contract term.
Both parties have a common desire to complete the team project that can realize the ambitions and dreams of the fans of the big Club.
Al Ain’s announcement of the renewal of confidence in the Ukrainian coach, Sergiy Rebrov, comes in conjunction with completing all the arrangements for the pre-season summer training camp of the team in preparation for the new season.
The contract was renewed amid an atmosphere full of optimism and a strong desire to enhance the favorable situation experienced by the Boss to go on the team’s honorable achievements during the journey to defend the Club’s crest in the challenges of the new season. Therefore, the plans are set to achieve more successes and consolidate the balance of achievements.
In his first statement, after agreeing to activate the contract renewal clause from his summer residence outside UAE, Rebrov expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Board of Directors of Al Ain Football Club Company, chaired by Dr. Matar Al Darmaki, for the professionalism while ahead of signing the contract.
He hailed the efforts exerted by the Club’s management, who were keen to furnish the reasons for achieving the desired goals.
“I realized such level of professionalism and dedication before I officially assumed my responsibilities the task and during the negotiations phase and throughout my work with the team during the last season. All of these contributed to embodying the concept of team spirit,” he said.
Rebrov added: “I also want to thank the fans of Al Ain Club for their continuous support and actual contribution to achieving the goals of the Club. I want to assure them that we expect greater support from Ainawi Nation in the next stage, and I have great confidence in the ability of the Ain fans to make a difference. I always bet on the supporters as a key player in my team’s squad.”
He expressed his appreciation to the Al Ain Club Board of Directors by saying: “I congratulate myself today on continuing with the “Boss” for the next season, and I would also like to thank the Pro Committee chaired by Matar Ghamran and Majed Al Owais, in addition to the administrative and medical staff and all members of the Club for winning the double titles last season.
He also stated that all achievements became something of the past, and “our task in the new season will not be easy for it requires greater focus and boosting up efforts. However, I have great confidence in the Club’s staff to achieve goals thanks to the support of the Club’s presidency and the fans’ support.
Rebrov pointed out: “I feel so happy to continue my work with Al Ain Team because I actually found a positive and stimulating atmosphere due to the management’s professionalism and the incredible capabilities of Al Ain Club, in addition to team’s enormous grassroots that stands by the team in all stadiums that definitely enhances the sense of belonging to the Al Ain Club.

The name of the Al-Ain coach has been associated with great success in the world of football as a distinguished player and a capable coach, and the most critical factors that have helped him achieve his goals are based on his remarkable potential, strong personality, and mentality in working to keep pace with the signs of development and instilling a spirit of challenge in the hearts of his team players.
Sergiy Rebrov is a Ukrainian football manager and former player who played as a striker. He was most recently in charge of Nemzeti Bajnokság I side Ferencváros.
Rebrov gained international fame as an attacking partner of Andriy Shevchenko at Dynamo Kyiv throughout the 1990s and, as of August 2017, is the all-time top scorer of the Ukrainian Premier League and Maksim Shatskikh.
Rebrov was born in Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast. From his debut in 1992, he was capped 75 times by Ukraine, scoring 15 goals. He played in the nation’s first-ever World Cup in 2006.
He finished his career as a professional football player in 2009, after which he worked as a coach. From 16 April 2014, he held the position of acting head coach at Dynamo Kyiv, and from 18 May 2014 to 31 May 2017, he was the head coach of Dynamo. He was the first to win the Ukrainian Cup as a player and coach. In his recent career as a coach of Al Ain Club, he was crowned with Al Ain with the ADNOC Pro League and PLC Pro Cup “2021-2022” titles.
