Ahmad Al Shamesi: Thanks Should Go to UAEFA and PLC for Noteworthy Preparation and Significant Arrangements

This evening, at the VIP hall in Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium, the stars of “Boss” Team, coaching teams and administrative staff, attended the Refereeing Workshop. The workshop organized by the Clubs Licensing and Development of Department of Professional League Committee, in cooperation with the UAE Football Association.

The workshop was moderated by Leo Robert, Director of the Referees Department, and attended by Ahmed Yaqoub, the Technical Officer for Residents and Lecturers in the UAE Football Association, and Husam Abdel Moneim, the E-Learning Office.

The lecturers tackled the latest amendments to the football law including offside cases, goalkeeper positioning when taking the penalty kick, the protocol for video technology “VAR”, and deliberately delaying play. All amendments were explained using videos for ease and clarification.

Ahmed Al Shamesi, Al Ain Team Manager, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the UAE Football Association and the Professional League Committe, for the superb presentation on the latest amendments to the football law for the new Season 2022-2023.

Al Shamesi stressed the importance of the referring workshop for Al Ain players, coaching teams and admin staff to be familiar with the most important amendments to the football laws, including Law No. “11” on offside cases.

“The comments and clarifications addressed by the workshop’s lecturer, Leo Robert, were invaluable. We thank again to UAEFA and PLC for organizing this workshop,” he said.

At the end of the workshop, the team coach, Sergiy Rebrov, and Ahmed Al Shamesi, the Team Manager, were keen to present the representatives of the Referees Committee Al Ain Club Memorial Shield in appreciation of their efforts in organizing the workshop.
