Ahmad Al Shamesi emphasized that Al Ain Team’s head coach Sergiy Rebrov preferred to give Mohammed Ahmad, Yahiya Nader, Ahmad Barman and Mohammed Abbas a short break ahead of the friendly match against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad. They have already joined the training sessions to ensure they are back into form.

Noteworthy, the Boss was held at that match to a 1-1 draw marking the end of home training camp held in Dubai.

Commenting on the team’s performance in their recent friendly match, Al Shamesi stated: “I believe that both teams’ coaches of the top teams in their leagues achieved the pre-set goals out of the friendly match. The match was fervent and the two squads performed well.”

He added that Sergiy Rebrov was keen to give the young players of the Reserved Team to boost their confidence in their skills. He stressed that playing such big matches, even if it is a friendly match, trigger their motives and confidence in themselves for sure.

As for the injury that Sultan Al Shamesi suffered from in the early minutes of the match against the KSA’s Al Ittihad Team, he said: “Sultan suffered from a minor injury in his leg muscle and it is not annoying as per the initial medical reports of the team’s doctor. However, the coaching teams preferred to give him a break. It is scheduled to do all necessary medical checkups and based on the reports, the doctor will determine the recovery period prior joining the team’s training sessions.”

Al Shamesi commented on the team’s home training camp held in Dubai stressing that the training schedule was preset and approved by the team’s supervisor, Abdullah Ali, in line with the head coach’s requirements and needs and approval of the Professional Technical Committee.

He stated that the team is on 24-hour break following the end of the home training camp and would resume the training sessions at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium on Wednesday.

Al Shamesi signed off by announcing that the Boss squad would play a friendly match on 11th December ahead of the quarter final match of Pro League Cup against Al Wasl.
