The Team Kicked off the Preseason Camp a Month Ago and Not Playing Matches Have Negative Impact on our Preparations

We Highly Hail the Efforts Exerted by ADSC, UAEFA and PLC

Sultan Rashid, Manager of Al Ain first and reserved football teams, extended his sincerest regards and gratitude for the dedicated efforts exerted by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), UAE Football Association (UAEFA) and Professional Committee League (PLC) in support of all sports clubs during the current stage.

Sultan Rashid also commended the players of Al Ain football teams for their commitment and discipline, pointing out that all of them are working hard with great desire to achieve their aspirations while defending the Boss crest in the current season.

“They all work and train in high spirits since the start of the preseason training camp on 15 July 2020, i.e., a month ago. I believe not playing any matches until now will have negative implications on the team’s preparations for the upcoming season,” he stated.

Commenting on the nature of the team’s preseason preparations, he said: “The training program is limited to holding training sessions under the supervision of the coaching teams led by the Portuguese head coach Pedro Emmanuel. However, as other coaches participating in the AFC Champions League 2020, he is waiting impatiently for the Medical Protocol to organize and play friendlies as they are critical for any time at this stage.”

Sultan Rashid added that clubs competing in AFC Champions League 2020 have already embarked on their official matches. “This makes it obligatory for us to prepare well and arrive at the required level of physical fitness to protect players from being exposed to any injuries. The alternatives are to hold local friendly tournaments to be organized by the local sports councils.”

To achieve the desired goals, Sultan suggested organizing a four-team tournament, including Al Ain, Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, Al Sharjah, and Al Wahda, under the supervision of the UAEFA.
