Four Negative Test Results Gives Caio the Green Light to Back to Training Session

Al Ain Football Club Company officially announced that Caio Canedo is back to training sessions after he recovers from Coronavirus, which he caught in mid-July 2020. The player has already joined the team’s training sessions.

In this regard, Dr. Heba Al Ameri, member of Al Ain Club Medical Committee, stated that Caio Canedo was subject to the COVID-19 screening test upon his arrival to UAE in line with the medical protocol adopted by the competent authorities. “Caio did the screening test upon his arrival to the UAE per the medical protocol adopted by the authorities and implemented by the Al in Club, in addition to the 14-day quarantine regardless of the test result. A report was submitted to the UAEFA, and then he is transferred to the hotel assigned as quarantine in Al Ain City.”

“The Medical Committee of Al Ain Club formed medical teams with different specialties to monitor the players’ health conditions. Caio Canedo received significant care and special attention from the Chairman and board members of Al Ain Football Club Company, the Medical Committee chaired by Dr. Talal Al Khazraji, and the medical team dedicated to monitoring his health conditions,” she said.

Dr. Heba emphasized that Caio Canedo did not socialize or mix with anyone at the Al Ain Club in line with the distinctive procedures of conducting training sessions approved by the Medical Committee.

“Those who are coming from abroad are not allowed to enter the football fields or be in direct contact with the team players unless they are subject to three screening tests and spend 14 days in quarantine,” she added.

Dr. Heba stressed that Caio was subject to several COVID-19 tests and that the last four results were negative. “He also underwent comprehensive medical checkups, including general physical tests, blood tests, echocardiography and CT scans of the lungs. The player was referred to a specialist in cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, eyes, ear, nose, and throat. All results were reassuring and showing no positive results. A detailed report was then submitted to the Sports Medicine Committee of the UAEFA about the player’s health, who granted him the approval to start to join his team’s training sessions.”

The member of the Medical Committee hailed the critical role played by the Al Ain Football Club Company for implementing the best global practices in terms of precautionary measures to protect its members’ health. “The company supports the Medical Committee in their efforts to ensure full adherence with the approved medical protocol and conducting screening tests every 5 to 7 days for all the team members.”

Dr. Heba concluded her statement by expressing her heartful wishes for every one of being safe and healthy. She assured the Ainawi Nation that the Club adopts the best global healthcare practices to ensure the team’s safety and health.
