H.E. Talal Al Al-Sheikh, Advisor to the Chairman of the Union of Arab Football Association and the Director of the Arab Club Champions Cup, underlined that Al Ain FC along with UAE Football Association will be subject to direct penalties if Al Ain’s “international” players are not participating the second leg match between Al Ain FC and ES Sétif scheduled to be held on 4th August 2018.

“UAFA shall duly impose penalties against Al Ain FC and UAEFA based on the fact that there was legal time limitation of 60 days for the UAEFA representative to select the dates of the UAE National Team matches prior the Secretary General signed the calendar of the Arab championship,” said Tala Al Al-Sheikh. He emphasized that the regulations stated it plainly that all participating clubs are to play all their matches including their international players.

He expressed his wishes that UAEFA will not commit any violations and that UAFA adopts zero tolerance policy for violations. He concluded: “We do understand that the Arab Club Champions Cup means something for us along with all athletes in UAE and absolutely it is a very important championship.”
