Thanks to Douglas & Mohannad, Al Ain FC strips the ‘Emperor’ of its league leader title
Al Ain FC managed today evening to come from behind to guarantee 2-1 win over Al Wasl at HBZ Stadium at Round 10 of the Arabian Gulf League.
The first half ended with Al Wasl leading 1-0 thanks to a 3-minute penalty kick netted by Fábio de Lima; but the second half showed Al Ain FC’s comeback as Douglas Dyanfres broke the tie at 58th minutes and Mohannad Al Enezi scored the go-ahead goal at 73rd minute.
The game was marked by two dismissals on Al Wasl side; their defender Hassan Zahran was sent off at the last minute to follow their coach 73 minutes after the kickoff.
With 3 more points, Al Ain FC jumps to 3rd place in the table with 19 points, while Al Wasl’s tally freezes at 22 points.
