The Boss Downs the Emperor by A 3-1 Victory

Al Ain First Football Team achieved a deservedly victory over the home team, Al Wasl, by 3-1 in matchweek 12 of the Arabian Gulf League held in Zabeel Stadium.

Al Ain finished the first half by taking the lead by 1-0. Al Ain scored through Marcus Berg “19”, Caio Lucas “48” and Hussein El Shahat “90”, while Al Wasl scored their only goal by a mistake committed by Al Ain’s defender, Ismael Ahmad, “56”.

Following this win, Al Ain moves to second spot on 28 points, while Al Wasl remains 11th on 11 points.

A Strong Start

Al Ain got off to a strong start and tried to score by launching serious attacks from the depth and flanks. Berg was almost to score at “15” when he received a deft cross from Hussein El Shahat and met the ball by a header passing the goalkeeper and hist the post to be a goal kick.

The “19th” minute witnessed scoring the lead goal for Al Ain as Berg’s efforts paid off. Tsukasa Shiotani received a cross inside the box before passing the ball to Berg who slotted past Al Wasl keeper Yousif Abdalla Al Zaabi.

Brazil’s Caio Lucas had a great chance to score at “23” when he received a deceptive deft pass from Mohammed Abdul Rahman “Ajab” through a counterattack. He sent a powerful shot within the box but deflected by Al Wasl’s defenders to be a corner kick.

Marcus Berg tried his luck again by trying to surprise the goalkeeper by a concealed shot from the edge by hitting the ball by his heel, but the goalkeeper was alert and collected the ball skillfully “30”.

The first half ended while the sign board showing the result 1-0 in favor of Al Ain.

Just after the restart, the Boss, however, picked up where they left off and were able to double their lead just three minutes after the break. El Shahat’s through pass inside the box found Mohamed Abdulrahman who crossed the ball to Caio Lucas and the Brazilian forward’s first-touch finish found the left corner of the net “48”.

Al Wasl was able to level up only eighth minutes later, Ismaeel Ahmed scored an own goal to reduce the deficit for Al Wasl. Following a corner, Vinicius Lima found the ball after the Al Ain defense failed to clear the ball properly. The Brazilian midfielder’s effort from the right side deflected off the Al Ain defender and hit the back of the net to make it 2-1 for the Boss “60”.

By the last minute of the match, El Shahat concluded the match by netting his side’s following a brilliant individual effort on the left flank, the Egypt international sent a powerful low shot past Al Zaabi to secure a 3-1 win for Al Ain.
