Doumbia Officially Signs to Al Ain and Robin Name is Listed in Al Ain Team Participating in FIFA Clubs World Cup

Al Ain Football Club has officially signed the contract with the Mali midfielder Hamed Doumbia for two seasons following the completion of his registration procedures in the team’s lists for the FIFA Clubs World Cup- UAE 2018. He will wear jersey number 3.

In the official press statement issued on Sunday 2nd December 20108, Al Ain Club also revealed the details related to the registration of the Portuguese Robin Rubero. The registration processes are underway and will be completed shortly.

On this occasion, H.E. Ghanem Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain Club Football Company, expressed his sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of Al Ain Club for their generous care and substantial support of all sports practiced by the club of all age categories. “Our leadership in Al Ain Club always furnish all the success grounds to enable us to achieve the desired aspirations.”

Al Hajeri stated: “After the historic reception of the champs of the double titles at Al Bahar Palace in Abu Dhabi, H.H. Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council, First Vice President of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, First Vice President of the Honorary Council & Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, issued his directives to enhance the lines of the first football team with professional and high caliber players in the club’s quest to achieve record results that match the aspirations of the Ainawi Nation.”

“It took the team tasked to complete all the registration processes only 48 hours. However, all the pre-arrangements and measures were done ahead of time by the Chairman of the Professionalism Committee in coordination with the Head Coach of the team to single out the technical needs and the best names available in the transfer market during to meet the technical requirements and select the shortlisted players available during the winter transfer window,” Al Hajeri said. He added: “They also communicated with the players’ agents directly to ascertain the selected players’ availability during the FIFA Clubs World Cup prior initiating the negotiations to sign the contract.”

Al Hajeri underlined: “In line with the club’s management commitment by the principles of transparency in light of the recent news about the players’ status and their contracts, and our commitment to keep the club’s loyal fans informed, we do confirm that the registration processes for both Robin and Doumbia kicked off on 31st September 2018. Indeed, we were successful in finalizing all details of Doumbia’s contract and completed his registration in realization of the optimal exploitation of our available resources and deal realistically with all situations we are facing, meanwhile Robin’s file is still open, and we are on it currently to ensure all is on the right track.”

On Robin’s file, Al Hajeri stated: “Concerning Doumbia’s file, our tasked team got the approval of the player’s agent in a short notice and only 8 hours prior closing the transfer window. As for Robin’s file, we are still awaiting the approval letter from the officials of the FIFA on our letter addressed to them through UAEFA and the Players Status Committee to approve the registration of the player despite the fact that the registration window has been closed but there exceptions for free players and for limited period.”

“All documents available prove that Al Ain Club has already contracted with Robin as a free player during the allocated period and as per UAEFA regulations. Additionally, the player himself has official document issued by the Portuguese Sports Court and certified by the Portuguese Football Association stipulating that the he a free player and has the right to sign to any club.”
