The Boss Edged Al Fujairah by Shiotani and Rubero Goals


Al Ain squad achieved a deserved victory over their guests, Al Fujairah FC, by 2-1 in matchweek 18 of the Arabian Gulf League held at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium on Saturday 30th March 2019.

Al Ain scored the two gaols through Tsukasa Shiotani “14” and Ruben Ribeiro “59”. Meanwhile, Al Fujairah scored through Ibrahim Khamis “77” but was not enough to equalize.

By this result, Al Ain returned to second place on 38 points, while Fujairah’s losing streak extended to six games as they remained 12th on 13 points.

After controlling the possession in the early minutes of the game, the Boss found themselves in front in the 14th minute. Tsukasa Shiotani found Bandar Al Ahbabi’s cross inside the box before sending a left-footed first-touch shot that deflected off the Fujairah defender and nestled into the right corner of the net.

The home side thought they have scored their second goal through Marouf “40”. However, after consulting the VAR, it was ruled out for an offside for an offside in the build-up.

Just before the hour-mark, Ribeiro extended Al Ain’s lead. Saeed Al Menhali crossed the ball back to Ribeiro on the edge of the box and the Portuguese forward dribbled past the Fujairah defender before sending a low shot past Al Tamimi.

Fujairah eventually found the back of the net as Khamis pulled one back with 13 minutes to go. Khamis found Salem Saif’s pass on the edge of the box and sent a powerful shot into the left corner of the net to make it 2-1 at the 77th minute.
