The Spain’s Head Coach of Al Ain FC, Juan Carlos Garrido, described matchweek 18 of the Arab League (AGL) scheduled to be held on Saturday 30th March 2019 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium as the key to the remaining rounds of the current season and to boost the Boss’ chances to stay in the competition to snatch the top spot.

“Our pre-perpetrations for the coming match went well given that we had a good space of time to conduct more training sessions. All the players know what they are meant to do and they understand the importance of wining the coming match. Personally, I am waiting for their gift to me on my Birthday by securing the three points of Saturday’s match,” he said.

Commenting on a question on the impact of not playing any official or friendly matches during the past FIFA days, he said: “As I stated earlier, the past period was ideal to conduct training sessions and assess the level of performance and skills of the young players who did not have the chance to be part of the team’s starting lineup. I am so happy by the players’ performance and level of readiness that they show during that important period which I consider positive in general.”

On his expectations whether Al Ain is still has chances to compete to win the title of AGL considering that Al Sharjah will have a tough match against Al Jazira, he said: “I prefer not to think about the opponents’ results. Add to that football does not recognize the language of expectations as there is no special formula for that. I only focus on my team and boosting the level of the team’s fighting spirit and high concentration to secure the match’s three points. Therefore, all what we are required to do is to deal with each match separately and I look forward to be lucky enough to add new three points to our balance.”

He concluded by stating that Ahmad Barman will not play the coming match due to his recent injury while participating in the friendly matches of the UAE National Football Team and that the medical team will determine how many matches we will miss him. He said that Mohannad Al Enezi will also not be included in the lineup next match for the colored cards he received and Doumbia for not being registered to play in local competitions.
