The Boss achieved a historical and memorable victory over the South American champions, River Plate, in the Club World Cup on Tuesday, as the Argentina’s opponent lost the chance to qualify in a penalty shootout after the semi-final finished 2-2 after extra-time. Al Ain’s players converted all five penalties before the goalkeeper Khalid Eisa saved Enzo Pérez’s fifth shot for River to seal a 5-4 victory. The four goals of the match were scored by Berg “2” and Caio “51” and River Plate’s Santos “10” “15”.

The Boss squad were there and proved to all the purple team loyal lovers that they are up to it and to be step ahead of the dream while waiting for the winner of the semifinal match between Spain’s Real Madrid and Japan’s Kashima Antlers.

The First Half

Adopting the same scenario against Esperance de Tunisia by scoring the fastest goal in the history of the Club World Cup by Mohamed Ahmed in the minute of 1.19, Marcus Berg tussled with River defender Javier Pinola, the ball glanced a body and found its way into the goal in the minute 2.16 which was the second fastest goal in the history of the competition.,

River Plate’s Quick Reaction
The River players came back quickly and scored the equalizer in the 10th minute through Rafael Santos. Caio responded with a powerful shot at “14” but went over the crossbar. After the goal, the River players pressed hard and scored their second goal by Santos “16”.

Wasted Opportunities

Excitement, Speed and Eisa’s Brilliance
Following scoring Al Ain’s second goal, the match heated, and level of excitement went up. The River Plate was about to score their third goal butt Khalid Eisa saved the header sent by Rafael Santos “59”, and brilliantly once again he saved his net when he palmed off the ball sent by Martinez from a direct free kick.

Substitutions
Zoran made the first substitution by replacing Mohamed Abdel Rahman by Ryan Yaslam “63”. The Boss’ players exerted high pressure on the River Plate seeking to score the leading goal and to limit the midfielders maneuvers.

Wasted Penalty Kick
Eisa saved the UAE champions twice in quick succession. On 68 minutes, River wasted a golden opportunity, Martinez drilling his penalty against the crossbar after Mohammed Ahmed had inexplicably tripped Milton Casco inside the Al Ain area.

Activity
Zoran made the second substitution at 75 by replacing Marcus Berg by Bandar Al Ahbabi in a clear indication of the head coach’s intention to activate the front line and make use of Al Ahbabi’s high speed.

Ainawis’ Pressure
The Boss again started to exert high pressure on the opponent through from the left-wing by El Shahat and Caio with support of Shiotani and the disturbing high-speed movements of Bandar.
