We Finished the First Round of the League in 7th Spot and We Improved in the Second Round, But We Were Not Lucky Enough to Win the League Title

Al Ain Team head coach emphasized that his team will play next match against Al Bataeh but both teams have different goals. He said that Al Ain sights are set to maintain the second place and finish the league as runners up, while Al Bataeh is fighting to stay in the league and avoid relegation.

“However, the players are highly motivated to win the next match and this is an important thing for us. We are playing at home and following this upcoming match, we will start preparing for ADIB semifinal firs leg match. Next match is critical and everyone knows that is important and hope to see the fans behind the team to help the players,” Sergiy Rebrov stated in the pre-match press conference of matchweek 26 of ADNOC Pro League held this evening.

Rebrov added: “I could say that by the end of the league that the team’s performance could be evaluated in two phases. You remember we finished the first round of the league in 7th place. In the second round, the team did well and their performance improved. Fans were hoping to win the league title.”

He stressed that he is satisfied with the player’s performance who spare no effort. He also emphasized that as he is approaching the last day in his second year training the team, he could see that the players’ performance improved compared to his first year with the team.

“I am so happy that the team was competing to win all titles during this season. I believe it is not easy to compete in all championships with the same level of high performance,” he said.

Rebrov expressed his sincerest appreciation for all the efforts exerted by the players of the Boss squad as they moved step forward.

Then he put an accent on the importance of continue fighting to win ADIB Cup while focusing on maintaining the second place in the league. He stated also that after the last competition the team will take a good break and kicks off their pre-season summer training camp in preparation for the next season.

Responding to a question of the players who are expected not to play next match for injury, he said: “Tin Jedvaj will not play the next match. There are players suffering from minor injuries but we have 48hrs to decide who is fit and ready to play next match.”

“I hope all the players will be in form and as we are approaching the finish line of this season, all the players exhausted, specially who played all the matches of this season,” Rebrov concluded.
