Today, Al Ain Football Club has announced the third deal by signing the third foreign player to the Boss lineup. Al Ain FC presented the Tunisian “international” defender, Yassine Meriah, 28 years old, officially through the Club’s official accounts and website.

The newly-arrived player signs to Al Ain until 2023 and will soon join his teammates to defend the team’s badge.

Abdullah Ali, Supervisor of Al Ain First Football Team, said that the Tunisian “international” defender, Yassine Meriah, is of an added value to the team.

“He will be a key player in enhancing the back line of the team considering his high capabilities, pronounced international experience, a wonderful presence and a distinguished personality on and off the pitch,” he said.

He added: “Certainly, Yassine Meriah will not be a stranger to Al Ain as many elite Tunisian players played for Al Ain and won titles with the Boss, including Mohieddin Habita, Hammadi Al Aqrabi and Iskandar Al Suwaih.”

Abdullah Ali wished Yassine Meriah all the best in his new career with the Al Ain FC.

In statements published by the Al Ain Club official website, Yassine Meriah expressed his pleasure to join the Boss lineup, stressing that: “I am well aware that playing for big clubs requires pushing myself to the limit and demonstrating a fighting spirit and challenge in defending the badge of the team to contribute to achieving the goals set by the club’s management to satisfy the grassroots of the boss of UAE clubs.”

Meriah also stated that the great achievements made by Al Ain, throughout history, raise the bar of responsibility of every player whose fate is to play for the Boss.

“We all have to continue the path of giving that was written in letters of light over successive generations on the club that holds the best records and the best club to defend the reputation of the Gulf and Asian football clubs in the World Club Cup- UAE 2018 and the only Emirati club to win the Asian Championship title and the highest scorer in winning the AGL title.

He added: “I am so blessed that my first Gulf experience is with Al Ain, one of the best Asian football clubs, whose logo was worn by a number of Tunisian football stars.

Yassine signed off by provoking to Allah Al Mighty to grant him and his teammates success in achieving the goals of the Boss and the ambitions of the great and loyal Ainawi fans.

Biography

Yassine Meriah was born in the Ariana County in Tunis, northwest of the capital, Tunis, on 2nd July 1993. He turned to be a star since his childhood while playing with the Ariana Football Team. He then joined ES Métlaoui belonging to the first division. He was the star of his new team in 2013-2014 season when he was only 20 years old. Yassine Meriah became a target for several big clubs in Tunisia, but Club Sportif Sfaxien managed to sign him in 2014 to 2018, to get the international badge by playing for the Tunisian National Football Team.

In the 2018-2019 season, he played for the biggest clubs in the Greek league Olympiacos, and moved from the Club on loan to the Turkish League through Süper Lig club Kasımpaşa, in the 2019-2020 season. On 13 September 2020, he signed a long season loan with another Süper Lig club Çaykur Rizespor before officially joining Al Ain FC.
