Croatia’s Zoran Mamic, head coach of Al Ain FC, opened the post-match press conference by congratulating the “Boss” squad for their stunning victory in their first match of the Arabian Gulf League (AGL) while stressing the fact that it was not easy for the players to play in such weather conditions as it will have negative impact on their health. “It is good that we did not have any injuries while playing under such arduous conditions. I believe it is so critical for my team to snatch the three points and hope things will go like this and be able to win all our coming challenges,” said he.

Zoran put an accent on the fact that Al Ain controlled the match but missed the final touch to score in the competitor’s net. “This might be attributed to the weather conditions or lack of concentration. On the other hand, Emirates was almost so close to level up the result prior we scored the third goal,” stressed he.

The Croatian head coach pointed out that his team will miss the efforts of a number of players as they will join the training camp of the UAE National Football Team. He emphasized that he will see how he will prepare his squad for the coming two matches of the cup competition while missing key players in critical positions.

Commenting on a question on his team’s suffering because of the weather conditions, he said: “Absolutely, high temperatures and humidity had a negative impact on both teams’ players. I expressed my wonder in the pre-match press conference regarding reasons behind not to amend the timing to be eight in the evening instead of ten to six,” said he.
On a question on Amoory, he stated: “I am not KSA’s Al Hilal head coach to talk about Amoory. I keep great relationship with him and hope to it will continue as it is in the future. I am the head coach of Al Ain and it is not fair or logical to talk about a player of another team. You should address this question to the head coach of Amoory in Saudi Arabia.”
