The “Boss” squad left Ras Al Khaimah back to Al Ain with three points in their pocket following beating the Emirates FC by 3-1 in the match held at Emirates Club Stadium in matchweek 1 of the Arabian Gulf League.

The first half ended with Al Ain taking the lead by 2-1. The “Boss” scored the three goals by Hssein El Shahat “2”, Marcus Berg “22”, Caio Lucas “78”. Meanwhile, the Falcons scored their only goal by Bernie Ibini “18”.

Following the game, Al Ain occupy the third league spot with three points while Emirates sit 11th with zero points.

Impressive Strong Kickoff

Al Ain showed their offensive intentions from the first minute of the match and it was as they desired when El Shahat scored the leading goal taking advantage from Berg’s powerful shot deflected by the defenders. He was in the right place and sent the ball calmly into the difficult angle crept past goalkeeper Ahmad Al Shaji “2”.

Al Ain tried their best to enhance their lead by exerting high pressure from the depth and flanks over the home team, but the Australian Bernie Ibini was able to level up the result by an individual effort to score his team’s first and only goal of the match “18”.

It did not take Al Ain that much time to respond with El Shahat sent a deft cross to Swede Berg who jumped high and sent an accurate header into the far corner of the goalkeeper back net “22”.

Berg wasted a valuable chance to score his team’s third goal in two occasions. AGL Top Scorer of the past season failed to convert the ball from the spot as Al Shaji saved his net, but the referee called for a repeat of the spot kick. Emirates’ goalkeeper elegantly saved his net again from the spot “40”, denying the Swede his second goal of the night. Then the referee whistled announcing the end of the first half.

By the minute “78”, Al Ain was able to score the third goal by Caio Lucas who was not lucky to score in more than one occasion.

The match ended by a final result of 3-1 in favor of Al Ain.
