While assessing the level of the coming match against Al Sharjah in matchweek1 of Arabian Gulf Cup during the pre-match press conference, Zoran Mamic underlined that his team will have a tough clash match this coming Wednesday against the home team. “Our mission will not be an easy one, given that we are facing a strong and fully ready team with myriad talents while the “Boss” is missing 11 key international players. Yet, our reserved team will do their best and fight to win this match,” said he.

Commenting on amending the competition regulations on requiring participating teams to have 3 young players within their starting lineups; the amendment that he had been urging the PLC to adopt during the whole past season, he said: “I believe that granting the young players the chance to be included in the starting lineup is a good thing, and is in line with all clubs goals. However, I wish they could make it 5 or 6 young players instead of 3.”

He added: “Definitely, the move will pay off handsomely and it will be of an add value to the regulations of the competition, but then again and as I have stated earlier it would be hard for us to compensate the absence of 11 players in key and critical positions. I am sure our quality and skilled players of the reserved team will do their best and show their great potentials.”
