Al Ain Croatian Coach, Zoran Mamic, was keen to congratulate the players on their victory and qualify for the 16th Round of the AFC Champions League. He stressed that the “Boss” did not show their real quality performance but they were able to win and snatch the full mark.
He pointed out, “Al Ain’s performance in the previous games was better but they lost the chance to win and this is the beauty of football. Key and critical players returned to the team during this match after recovering from injury and were able to make the difference, including goalkeeper Khalid Issa, Omar Abdul Rahman and Ismail Ahmed, who played a good game though he was suffering from injury and influenza, but preferred to participate in the match and thank him on behalf of his teammates.”
Responding to a question on his point of view regarding the performance of the team playmaker, Omar Abdul Rahman, he said, “Omar is one of the best players and we do not need to talk about his potentials. We, as Al Ain FC, and I personally are lucky to have a player with his skills and capabilities. The whole team needs to play by his level of playing. I do thank Al Ain FC for retaining such a player in the team.”
