Enthusiastically and overwhelmed by the great victory over the Argentina’s River Plate, Zoran Mamic of Al Ain FC opened the post-match press conference by saying “I am so happy by the team’s achievement and to qualify to the final match of the ClubWC. Players did all what they could to be there.”

He went on to say: “What happened was incredible. All the players did well and pushed themselves to the limit despite being exhausted due to the tight schedule of the matches. We played 5 matches within 15 days and players exerted lots of energy and efforts in a very short period.”

He added: “We had good chances and given the quality of players we have onboard, we were the best despite all favorites were not to our side. I have to thank all the players for all their patience and what they did in the pitch.”

“They did deserve to win and play in such a big international competition. However, we have to prepare well for the final match. We have only 4 days for recovery and we are to be well-prepared for the coming final match,” the Croatian head coach of Al Ain FC said.
He put an accent on the fact that his team has proved that everything is possible in football and that in football things happen against your expectations which might be on paper only.

On the goal ruled off by the match referee due to offside following checking the case on video, he commented: “It is difficult for me and from my location to decide but is possible who are watching it from outside. Indeed, Berg did not see El Shahat and shot the ball directly to net and it hit the River Palate’s defender to be in front of El Shahat who placed it into the back net of the goalkeeper. I think it is a goal and the match referee’s decision was not accurate. Even the penalty kick against Al Ain was not right. However, by the end of the day we won and qualified to the final match. We have to forget about it all.”
