Expressing his deep pleasure for the dear and important win against Al Jazira, Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain, Zoran Mamic, stressed that “It is not easy to beat Al Jazira at their own turf and among their fans despite the fact that we had tens of chances to score against them, but players were satisfied to score three goals only.”

“We could say that the team has taken a good step ahead in our challenge race to clinch the title. However, we have to be careful and deal with the coming match smartly as we have three rounds left with nine points and each coming confrontation will be more important than its predecessor,” said he.

He added: “We have also a busy tight schedule as we are playing important confrontations in the AFC Champions League and the President’s Cup. Indeed, winning Al Jazira has enabled us to get only three points but not grating us the title. Add to that, all players will enjoy their break time following today’s match and the rest will join the national teams.”

“There is certainly a lot of pressure on the players, especially as the team is fighting on several fronts, but the most important thing was to snatch the three points of the game. Definitely, we will have plenty of time to analyse mistakes and deal with them as needed,” he commented on a question on the reasons that the team conceded two goals in the last minutes of the match.

As for El Shahat’s injury and its seriousness, he said that the player is scheduled to be x-rayed tomorrow morning following he was hit on his ankle during tonight’s match. “We will be waiting for the medical reports to assess the seriousness of his injury,” said he.

“I have already mentioned that we have only snatched the three points of the match only and we did take an important step ahead in our race to win the title. It is our strategy that we deal with each match separately,” said he in response to a question on whether he believe that his team has already put their hands on AGL title.

He underscored: “Our coming match is more difficult than the clash match of this day despite differences between Al Jazira and Dibba in terms of level of performance.” He added: “I still remember when I was appointed as the head coach of Al Ain in the previous season that Dibba was able to beat my team by 2-1 and in the current team we were held at draw in our away match with the same team in one of the worst matches ever played by Al Ain.”
