We start from the beginning

He added the following statement: “We have to place everything that we have accomplished during the past season behind us, we also have to be motivated more than before to reach success and to work according to the most powerful style of play. We managed to prove that we are capable of realizing our sought after goals, but the new challenges will be more difficult, so when we are occupying the top position on the tournament’s standings table everyone will be seeking to claim victory over you, and every football team will be doing its best when they play vs Al Ain Club.”
The Serbian head coach emphasized that working with the group for almost a year and a half now is granting the coaching staff a solid and important basis to build upon, but he also stressed that this doesn’t mean that we have reached the highest degrees of improvement, so he said the following statement: “We are well aware of each other better than before, but we still have ahead of us a great space to improve our style of play, while there are many more matters that we can improve and to work upon.”
Ambitions at the highest level

While our sought after ambitions are always at the highest levels, regardless of the tournament in which they will be playing, as we will be entering every match with the same sought after goal, which is to claim victory.”
He added the following statement: “We have respect for all football teams during Pro League and the local tournaments, as well as the competing teams against whom we will be playing during the AFC Champions League football tournament, we are also well aware that we will be playing vs very powerful teams, but we are not afraid of anyone. We are well aware that we represent one of the biggest football teams in Asia, while in the same time we are well aware that football is becoming more powerful and difficult year after year.”
He pointed out that the competition at the highest levels is not related to a single side, he also pointed out that success requires full integration between physical, technical, and tactical levels, in addition to attention to details which decisively secure any match.
He also said the following statement: “In most of the occasions the finest of details can make a big difference. During the analysis of football matches and training sessions we continuously explain to the players the matters on which they need to concentrate, because they may grant us a slight advantage during the match we play, and this advantage can make the difference in the end.”
A more powerful squad

He also said the following statement: “Two or three members, whom we were in great need for, have joined that ranks of the coaching staff because we still have ahead new challenges and additional tournaments. During the past season we did not participate in the AFC Champions League football tournament, as for this season we have the continental tournament to play through, so we needed more members who will work with us and assist us in becoming even more powerful.”
Our squad is breathing together
The Serbian head coach considered that one of the most prominent gains during the past season was represented in building an interconnected squad that works with the spirit of one family, he also pointed out that the continuity of more than 90% of our squad members represent an important factor, in addition to what our new players have shown in terms of rigorousness and group mentality.
He also said the following statement: “Football is a collective game. The match starts with 11 players and there are other players who are on the substitution benches, while the biggest and more difficult challenge is to create a squad that breathes together and works as a one family.”

We had a wonderful squad and almost 90% of its members are still with us, while new players have joined its ranks, while what I have seen until now emphasizes that they are serious and possess the mentality of the player who works for the sake of the team.”
He explained that the offshore bootcamp is doing an important role in fortifying this aspect, in addition to its sought after technical and physical goals, so he said the following statement: “We spend together almost 25 to 30 days away from our families, we also work, speak, and live together. This is an important stage for us to unify the squad and to fortify the interconnectedness between our players, while the fundamental sought after goals is to reach the starting point of the official matches and we are ready to take on every tournament we participate through.”
The gradual readiness
The head coach of Al Ain first football team emphasized over the importance of friendly matches in evaluating the work during the preparatory stage, he also explained that it grants the coaching staff some distinct indicators over the player’s level and the aspects which need to be improved.
He also said the following statement: “Friendly matches are very important, through which we can know many more things, determine the aspects that we have to improve and those aspects which we deliver in a wonderful manner and the ones we need to maintain, it also grant us the opportunity to evaluate the performance of our players.”
He stressed over the necessity of cautiously dealing with physical loads and participation minutes during the current stage of work, especially that the players did not reach the full state of readiness.
He also said the following statement: “We are not in the stage in which we can utilize all players for 90 minutes. We have to be cautious, and we still have ahead two and a half weeks before the first official match.”
He added the following statement: “After the resting period that spanned over one month and a half, it is natural that our players are not ready to play full 90 minutes after only two weeks and a half of working. It is a gradual process which we are well aware of, we are also working on a daily basis to elevate the physical level of our players, in addition to improving the technical and tactical aspects, as well as merging all these elements into the team’s ecosystem.”
The Youth and experience
The Serbian head coach emphasized that the period which Al Ain Club has spent was enough to grant the team a deep knowledge in the personality of its players, as well as their capability and way of thinking, but he also pointed out that daily work remains a source to discovering more about the squad.

Even though, every day we gain new information, while every training session is important for us to better understand the team and every player on the individual level.”
He expressed his cheerfulness over the balance between the young players and the season players, so he said the following statement: “We are pleased and fortunate that we have a big number of young players, who have in possession a great motivation to reach success and to improve their professional career. They are serious and covetous to improve on the individual level, on the other hand we have five or six seasoned players who are fulfilling a great role, they are also talking to the young players, offer advice, and assist them in improving.”
He emphasized that the criteria for participation will always be connected to deservedness, he also added the following statement: “Everyone are well aware that I do not have any issue with engaging the young players inside the team’s starting lineup, if they proved that they deserve this and they do their work with the required level.”
Bypassing the boundaries

When the mind is exhausted you have to maintain your concentration. In those difficult moments you also have to do an additional effort for the team’s sake.”
He emphasized that this mentality is not connected with a certain player, rather, it is connected with the squad as a whole. He also pointed out that the management of a squad that consists of 20 to 25 players represent a continuous effort for the coaching staff.
The Asian tournament imposes the policy of rotation
