Yesterday, Al Ain’s “Classic” cycling track witnessed the final rounds of competitions of the bicycle and hand bikes race for the people of determination. This round of competitions took place through the eighth day of Hafeit Sports Challenge among thrilling atmospheres and with prominent official attendance.

Competitions took place with the attendance of Rashid Mousbeh Al Nuaimi, who is the general director of Al Ain’s municipality, Salem bin Hudairem Al Katibi, who is the chairman of Hafeit Challenge’s supreme organizing committee. Athletes were competing among wonderful atmospheres that embodied the spirits of challenge and determination.

Races results

As for the hand bikes race for movement disability category, Aeid Al Ahbabi was crowned with the first place, while Saeed Al Thaheri was the runner up in the second position, and Abdullah Al Hashimi was in the third place.

About the champion

Saeed Al Zuabi is considered one of the country’s most prominent super stars in Athletics, where he represented the United Arab Emirates in Rio De Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games, then he moved to triathlon in 2020, where he claimed the first position on the level of the Asian continent, and the second place on the global level. He also claimed the first rank on the international and global level in 2024.

Among thrilling atmospheres, the international player Ahmed Al Swaidi, who is the captain of the United Arab Emirates eGames national team, managed to claim the title of the first edition of Hafeit Challenge’s eGames, which is considered the largest of its kind on the level of the country in terms of the rewards’ financial value and the vast participation.

220 players were competing in 222 matches, which started online, reaching to the final stages of competitions that took place within the board of director’s hall at Hazza Bin Zayed stadium.

The final stages were followed up by, Salem bin Haderim Al Katibi, who is the chairman of the supreme organizing committee of Hafeit Sports Challenge, in addition to Rashid Abdullah, who is the tournament’s director, members from the supreme organizing committee, department managers from Al Ain city’s municipality, as well as a large number of eGames enthusiasts.

The tournament witnessed holding matches between elite “PlayStation” players on the level of the country and the Middle East. “Hafeit sports challenge” added a new impact over the sports scenery, in an exceptional event that witnessed the participation of nearly 2000 athletes who are competing in four different competitions, which covered more than 5000 km of “Dar Al Zain.” The event took place in thrilling atmospheres that spanned over football, basketball, and volleyball stadiums. Those competitions coincided with the onset of the cycling race, that witnessed the participation of 300 contenders from inside and outside the country, while the participants were divided into 13 competing categories, adding more thrill and rivalry to the competitions.

Cycling race started from “Saied” area en route to Al Ain international airport, with the participation of nine major categories. Those categories included different age categories and various levels of professionalism. The race spanned over 80 km, while a second race was dedicated to a distance of 27 km for those participants who are under 15 years of age.

Rashid Musabbah Al Mnai, General Mangerof Al Ain city Municipality, witnessed this morning the inaugural ceremony of the Institutions Football Championship at Tahnoon bin Mohammed Stadium in Al Qattara, in the presence of Salem bin Hadhiram Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Championship. The matches have been held among an exceptional sporting environment, embodying the concepts of solidarity and cooperation among community members, and witnessed the participation of a large number of Al Ain Club legends.

Al Mnai expressed his deep thanks, gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, for his noble patronage and continuous support for Al Ain community and provision of all means to ensure the success of sports and community initiatives. The Organizing Committee appreciates the partners’ efforts and approves increasing financial rewards for people of determination

The Supreme Organizing Committee of HafeetSport Challenge held an important meeting to discuss the performance of the 18 tournaments included in the largest event in the region. During the meeting, chaired by Salem bin Hadhiram Al Ketbi, the value of the financial prizes for winners in the People of Determination Championships has been increased, aiming at enhancing participation and motivating athletes.

Bin Hadhiram expressed his appreciation of the efforts made by the participating entities, including Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination which organized seven championships that attracted 900 athletes, in addition to the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Abu Dhabi Police, who contributed to the success of the event and the consolidation of the community sports concept.

Among the exciting competitions, the Organizing Committee of Hafeet Sport Challenge approved valuable rewards for the winners of the cycling race, scheduled to start tomorrow at 9 pm. Al Qattara Stadium hosts 6 fierceconfrontations at the Institutions Championships tonight

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region, the first version of Hafeet Sport Challenge competitions kicked off yesterday at Al Ain Club for People of Determination Stadium, amidst a sporting atmosphere full of enthusiasm and public interaction.

This Championship represents a distinctive sporting hub that enhances community integration and provides an inspiring competitive environment for People of Determination. It aims also to empower athletes from different categories, encourage them to achieve sporting championships, and highlight their skills in an atmosphere full of challenge and sportsmanship.

The competitions kicked off with football sevens matches for people of determination, where Al Ain Club for People of Determination team managed to achieve a 3-2 exciting victory over Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination, while the second match ended with the Abu Dhabi Care and Rehabilitation Center winning over the Al Ain Care and Rehabilitation Center with a 2-1 score.
The matches witnessed an exceptional attendance, as fans interacted enthusiastically with the teams competing for the title of the first version of the challenge.

The atmosphere of challenge goes on tonight, with the launch of the Institutions Championship at Tahnoon Bin Mohammed Stadium (Al Qattara), where the match schedule witnesses six strong confrontations:
