Yesterday, Al Ain Sports Games Company held a farewell party for the Bosnian handball player, Isak Omir, after spending five seasons with the Boss squad.

The honoring party was attended by Mr. Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Sports Director of the Sports Games Company, Mustafa Al Kaabi, Assistant Coach, Captain Yousry, the goalkeepers’ coach, and Mansour Al-Shuaili, the team’s statistician and administrator, in addition to the player’s teammate.

The Bosnian Isak Omir, 33, is one of the most distinguished players in the UAE. He won the Best Professional Player Award in 2018. He also contributed significantly to the return of the Al Ain Handball Team and building a solid team that can reach the podiums. He also won the UAE Cup 2020, the league runner-up, and the UAE Cup for the current season.

The sports director, Ahmed Sultan, expressed his appreciation to Isak Omir for everything he did for the team during his presence in previous years. He said: “We will not forget Isak’s contributions over the past period along with his teammates. He was a role model on and off the field. He has contributed and his colleagues to the return of Al Ain’s handball team to advanced positions and crowning podiums.

“He also possesses high morals in dealing with those around him in the club. I am sure that everyone testifies that he was a great and valuable asset to the team. However, this is the norm of our life where everything comes to an end. We wish him success wherever he goes, and Al Ain will remain his second home whenever he wants to return. He will be more than welcome,” he said.

For his part, Isak Omer expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to Al Ain Club Management for all the support they showed during the past period he spent with the team.

He said: “I am sad to leave my team, but I am proud and happy that I got brothers and a house in the UAE, i.e., Al Ain Club.”

He added: “I spent five years here and learned a lot and could, along with my fellow players to build a team that can compete to win titles, as we did last season and as we did in 2018 when we won the UAE Cup.”

He concluded his statement by extending his thanks to all who supported him and stood by him during his career in the UAE. He also said: “I wish success to all my fellow players in the next stage and that they won more championships and titles. This is life! Everything has an end for everything, but Al Ain Club will remain in my heart and thoughts. I will do my best to follow up the team matches and results in coming stages.”
