Abu Dhabi, The United Arab Emirates, 17th of May 2025: Today, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, who is the minster of industry and advanced technology, the mandatory member and the chief executive officer of “ADNOC” and its group of companies, and the chairman of the executive board of “XRG” company, witnessed the signing ceremony of a new historical agreement between Al Ain sports and cultural club and the two companies of “ADNOC”XRG“, whichtook place at the headquarters of “ADNOC” company.

Under this agreement, “ADNOC” will become the official sponsor of Al Ain first football team’s jersey through the team’s local matches during the upcoming sporting season, while “XRG” will be the official sponsor for the first football team’s training sessions jersey through its journey at the FIFA Clubs World Cup 2025 football tournament up until the end of the upcoming sporting season.  

The agreement has been signed on behalf of Al Ain sports and cultural club by Rashid Abdullah, who is the cheif executive officer of Al Ain investment company, and on behalf of the two companies of “XRG” and “ADNOC” the agreement was signed by Saif Atiq Al Falahi, who is the chairman of ADNOC Group Business Support and Special Tasks Department, and with the attendanceof a number of members at the board of directors of Al Ain football company, among them we have His Excellency Mohammer Ibrahim Al Mahmoud and His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Katabi. The signing ceremony has also been attended by an elite group of Al Ain’s first football team players, among them we have Khalid Eisa Mohammed Bilal Saeed Al Mesmari (who is the team’s goalkeeper), Soufiane Rahimi (who is the team’s forward player), Mohammed Abbas Ahmed Abdulla Hassan Al Balochi (who is the team’s midfielder),and Alejandro Sebastián Romero Gamarra, nicknamed Kaku (who is the team’s attacking midfielder), as well as a number of chief executive officers and department managers at Al Ain sports and cultural club. “ADNOC”, and “XRG”.

Al Ain gymnastics company hosted the schools basketball festival at Al Nahyania gym within the boundaries of Al Ain area. This event took place amongst distinguished and competitive atmospheres, through which a large number of schools have been participating.

Tomorrow, Al Qatara’s Tahnon Bin Mohammed stadium will host the final match of institutions tournament, which qualifies to Hafeit Sports Challenge’s Super Cup final.The upcoming match will bring together Al Ain “A’” team and Al Ain “B” team, where the first team is led by Ali Sultan and Faris Juma’a, while the second team includes a squad of the club’s legends, among whom we have Hilal Saeed, Hameed Fakher, Waleem Salem, Omar Gharib, Shihab Ahmed, Fawzi Faiz, Khalid Abdulrahman, Salem Abdullah, Mohammed Abdulrahman “Ajab”, and Abdullah Mal Allah.

Semi finals matches witnessed great thrill, as Al Sarooj team defeated its competitor, Mazeed team, by one point in difference (42-41), while Al Jahili team managed to qualify to the final after claiming victory over Al Muaijai team with the score of (25-24).

Yesterday, Al Ain’s “Classic” cycling track witnessed the final rounds of competitions of the bicycle and hand bikes race for the people of determination. This round of competitions took place through the eighth day of Hafeit Sports Challenge among thrilling atmospheres and with prominent official attendance.

Competitions took place with the attendance of Rashid Mousbeh Al Nuaimi, who is the general director of Al Ain’s municipality, Salem bin Hudairem Al Katibi, who is the chairman of Hafeit Challenge’s supreme organizing committee. Athletes were competing among wonderful atmospheres that embodied the spirits of challenge and determination.

Races results

As for the hand bikes race for movement disability category, Aeid Al Ahbabi was crowned with the first place, while Saeed Al Thaheri was the runner up in the second position, and Abdullah Al Hashimi was in the third place.

As for the bicycle race for the mental disability category, Saeed Rashid claimed the first position, followed him in the second position Khalid Al Manie, then Ali Al Hadrami in the third position.

Within the framework of the unprecedented sporting scenery through the city of Al Ain, Hafeit Challenge’s supreme organizing committee announced the official adoption of cricket and footvolley (Brazilian Tennis) to be added to the competitions list, so the number of sports through this huge sporting event increased up to 20 sports. This move came as a direct response to the wishes of the city’s residing communities, as well as to boost the vast participation which include different categories of men, women, children, elderly, and people of determination.

It has been scheduled to hold the cricket and footvolley competitions tomorrow on Wednesday’s evening, where Sheeab Al Ashkhar park will host the footvolley competitions, while cricket competitions will be held on the municipality’s pitches through the industrial zone.

Amongst brilliant Ramadan atmosphere on yesterday, Al Mabzarah Al Khadrah adopted the most powerful Ramadan competitions, with the participation of 800 contenders in the running race, which was divided into three distance categories of 1 km, 3 km, and 5 km.

The event was attended by Mosbeh Al Maneei, who is the general director of Al Ain city’s municipality, Salem bin Houdairem Al Katibi, who is the chairman of the supreme organizing committee of Hafeit Sports Challenge, Rashid Abdullah, who is the competitions managers through the challenge, as well as Sbeit Khater, who is the representative of Abu Dhabi Council and the manager of the running race, in addition to a number of officials from Al Ain city’s municipality.

Volunteering efforts enriching the event

The volunteers’ big role was prominent in the success of the running race, where 250 volunteers proved their effective attendance in the organization of the event, attracting admiration from the specialized entities in organizing international races. Khamis Rasid becomes history’s youngest contender through Hafeit Challenge’s running race at the age of 3 months

In an exceptional scenery that reflects the familial spirit and passion for sport, the infant Khamis Rashid registered his name as the youngest participant through the Hafeit Challenge. Khamis is no more than 3 months old. His participation came in the framework of his parents’ support for sport and as a confirmation over the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle since early childhood.

Despite his young age, Khamis attendance was brilliant through the race, where his parents accompanied him through the event that witnessed a vast participation of different age categories. With this step, the young infant Khamis became one of history’s youngest participants through local running races.

Al Zuabi performs brilliantly and praises organizers’ efforts

The Olympic champions Saeed Al Zuabi, who is the winner of the 1 km running race, expressed his pride over participating through this event, so he extended his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the representative of Al Ain area’s ruler, over the constant support for the sporting activities through the city.

Al Zuabi said the following statement: “We witnessed wonderful sporting atmospheres which we missed through the past period of time. Thank God over my success in claiming victory through the 1 km running race on the general level. I also would like to thank the supreme organizing committee over their great exerted efforts to make this exceptional event succeed.”

He also added the following statement: “The race was not easy, where we faced new challenges due to track’s nature, which had been selected at Hafeit mountain and Al Mabzarah Al Khadrah. The track included mounds and slopes that require high fitness and great ability to tolerate, making the competition more thrilling.”

About the champion

Saeed Al Zuabi is considered one of the country’s most prominent super stars in Athletics, where he represented the United Arab Emirates in Rio De Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games, then he moved to triathlon in 2020, where he claimed the first position on the level of the Asian continent, and the second place on the global level. He also claimed the first rank on the international and global level in 2024.
