Uzbekistan Crowned Champions of the Al Ain International Cup
The Uzbekistan national team claimed the Al Ain International Football Cup title after defeating Iran 4–3 on penalties this evening at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.
The match went to a penalty shootout after the two teams played to a goalless draw in regular time, following a strong and intense contest throughout the two halves, despite several clear scoring opportunities for both sides.
The awarding ceremony was attended by Saeed Abdullah Al Dhaheri, Director of Tourism Destinations at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and Rashid Abdullah, CEO of Al Ain Investment Club.
It is worth noting that the tournament was held from 13 to 18 November, with the participation of four national teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup: Egypt, Iran, Uzbekistan, and Cape Verde.
