Abdullah Ali: The “Boss” Bumps into “Emperor” in the Toughest Kick-Off Match of AGL 1st Round
The “Boss” commences their matches of the Arabian Gulf League 2017-2018 by facing Al Wasl FC in the toughest fixture of the first round. The table of all fixtures was announced following conducting the draw of the Arabian Gulf League Cup and Cup competitions for the season 2017/ 2018 on 3rd August 2017 during the meeting organized by the Pro League Committee of the UAE Football Association in Dubai.
As for the Arabian Gulf Cup, Al Ain will be playing in Group (A) alongside Al Jazeera, Al Dhafra, Al Nasr, Hatta and Ajman. Meanwhile, Group (B) included Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, Al Wahda, Sharjah, Al Wasl, Emirates and Dibba.
Abdullah Ali, Al Ain FC Administrative Supervisor of the Al Ain Football Academy Sector, stated that the draw results were balanced. He pointed out, “The first round of the Arabian Gulf League competition will witness a big match between Al Ain and Al Wasl in the beginning of their journey in this new season.”
“Undoubtedly, the coming confrontation has brought two great teams whose performance was good during the past season. Al Ain has been able to go on their journey in the continental championship in an honorable way. They do hope to continue their great results in the new season and to snatch the continental glorious title. Al Ain’s goals and ambitions are always well-defined, that is to compete and win all the titles. Indeed, the “Boss” craves to restore the title of AGL and won all titles as genuine translation of the esteemed patronage of the wise leadership of the Club,” said he.
He concluded, “Al Wasl performance during the past season was remarkable and this allowed them to return to represent UAE in the AFC Championships League. It is expected that the match of the two teams will be a strong start for both of them in the challenging journey to win the title of the new AGL season.”
