Al Ain tie with Al Ahli positive, however, not good: Team official
Al Ain team manager Matar Al Sahbani said that the tie in the match against Saudi’s Al Ahli is positive, however, it is not a good result as the team was very close to win and cinching the three points.
Al Ain FC twice rallied from a goal down to hold Al Ahli to a 2-2 draw in AFC Champions League Group C fixture at the latter’s own backyards at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium “The Shining Jewel” in Jeddah.
The manager of the Garden City Club expressed thanks to the players for the great efforts they exerted during the 90 minutes.
He stressed that the performance of Al Zaeem’s players reflects that the UAE giants enjoy strong personality in the Asian tournament, pointing out that the team’s regional stance and value were clear when the Saudi fans greeted the players once they entered the field of play.
The official stressed the importance of the home game against Al Ahli at at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, affirming that clinching the three points is a must.
He expressed confidence that the team is able to do such, pointing out that without winning this game, the situation of the Garden City Club will be very difficult.
