In the presence of H.E. Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain Club Football Company, Al Ain Company Team composed of U-20 and U-18 players kicked off the Government Departments Football Tournament by winning TRANSCO Team by 2-0 in the first round of the tournament held at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Stadium at headquarters of Government Departments Sports Association in Abu Dhabi.

Al Hajeri stated that the decision to take part in the Government Departments Tournament was based on an extensive examination and precise analysis to promote the concepts of sport investments and marketing regarding the loan and sale of players. “We are so keen to expand the scope of discovering more talented players and avoid high expenses paid by the club when the decision is to retain the skilful players without the need to register them in the club’s lists. We must take in consideration that any player who does not participate in official matches will not improve his skills and quality talent. It is a fact that training sessions are not the genuine standard to identify the actual level of the player and assessing their performance. Indeed, it is the matches that could help in providing a real indicator of the player’s performance and to be able to analyse his potentials physically, technically, mentally and in terms of behaviour as well.”

“Following the historical decision issued by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Al Ain Club has been so keen to attract several talents of those players born in UAE and sons of female Emiratis and residents,” Al Hajeri said. He went on to say that all the players who were not registered in the lists of junior players for not meeting the approved requirements of registration based on a detailed report that includes the technical and the health status of each individual player, the decision was taken to register them in the team’s list named the “Boss” to participate in in the Government Departments Football Tournament. He stressed that the team’s players will be trained under the supervision of the coaching team and the administrative and medical staff of Al Ain Club in the football fields of Al Ain Football Academy.

He added: “One of the most important targets of giving the opportunity for this team to play in this tournament is to further improve communication with companies, institutions and government departments in our beloved homeland. Additionally, we aim at promoting the important social role that Al Ain has played in our big city and the social responsibility that the club has always been holding in providing opportunities for all its residents to join the Garden City Club. I believe that such participation will enrich their experience and heat the competition among teams in this significant tournament.”
Al Hajeri shed the light on the gains of such a tournament by saying: “Al Ain Club looks forward to making the most through penetrating into the investment market by establishing and training talented and quality football players with the aim to help them to be professionals who can be n added value to all junior teams of Al Ain Club and UAE national teams.” He underscored the importance of identifying the levels of targeted players who already have been attracted but were not registered in the Club’s official lists of the Reserved Team and U-18 Team to be eligible to participate in the official competitions organised by UAEFA.

Al Hajeri concluded his testament: “As an alternative plan, we targeted all local players who have not been registered in the teams’ lists due to having completed lists as per regulations and instructions on registering players or who still need more time to be improve their level of performance, in addition to the sons of female Emiratis, UAE born players, residents and certain talented young players whom the Club Management intends to add their names to the approved list of investment in the future keep their names in our lists by signing contracts with them.”
