On the occasion of renewing his contract until 2025, Jonatas de Santos expressed his most profound appreciation, honor, and pride with the support he received during his career in Al Ain Club.

“I would like to express my appreciation to the Club’s management, teammates, and fans of this lofty sports club for their highly appreciated trust in me, supporting me to realize my ambitions and boosting up my skills and performance. I aspire to win local and international titles with Al Ain Team, given the spirit of the one family dominates the atmosphere of the team,” Jonatas stated.

He added: “Such a spirit gives you a genuine and unperturbed feeling and being happy to defend the crest of this big Club. I love the Club as everyone here enjoys the culture of respect when dealing with each other. They all always support and motivate me to work hard. They deal with me with great respect.”

Jonatas went on to say that he works hard in the training sessions and that he is associated with the tranquil and friendly city that he read about before signing the contract with the Club.

He also addressed an appreciation message to the Team Supervisor, Abdullah Ali, for his excellent manners while dealing with all the team’s players. He said: “He is always next to us during the morning and evening shifts. He is keen to support us, and I feel that he is my big brother. We all listen and follow his advice. Indeed, he is a great person.”

As for the secret behind the development of his level of performance, he said: “Indeed, the prevailing atmosphere in the Club is positive and motivates any player to push himself to the limit.”

He indicated that once the head coach Sergiy Rebrov assumed his responsibilities and stated to me that “you enjoy quality skills and will give the chance to play with the first team as of the new season.”

“That gave me the motive to show my fighting spirit during training sessions and matches to serve the best interest of the team. Due to our hard work and the coaches’ directives and guidance on minor details, I feel I am improving day by day. I could do great things to the team as a give back to the head coach who spares no effort to help me in further improving my skills,” he said.

Commenting on a question on his average performance when he joined the team, he said: “I started my career in UAE and tried to adapt to the new culture. It is not a secret to say that I faced certain challenges initially as I am living in a new place away from my family.

However, it did not take me that long to adapt to the culture and place due to the prevailing family spirit here and the support I received from everyone. I started to feel that I needed to improve my performance more and more. Currently, I only focus on sharpening my skills, continuing the hard work, and proving I can develop just to be up to the coach, team’s management, and fans expectations and trust.”

When asked about his keenness to train during off times and head of the second round of the league, he said that he always seeks to take advantage of the free time he has in training. He stressed that exercise is one of his favorites. “I am fond of training as I am meant to improve my capabilities, and this is why I train daily during breaks and off times.”

He also talked about the time he spent with Hatta Team on loan. He stated that he did not get the chance to play many matches when he joined Hatta Team. He also pointed out that once he got the opportunity to play his only game with the team, the Corona pandemic broke through, and everything was frozen and suspended. Therefore, he felt that he needed to fly back to Brazil at that time.

Jonatas stressed that playing for the “Boss” is the dream of all players and promised the loyal fans always to show his fighting spirit while defending the team’s badge.

Regarding his aspirations with the team, he said that he aspires to win the league title and be back to play in the AFC Champions League. He also expressed his wishes to play in the FIFA Clubs World Cup precisely as in 2018 when the team was crowned as the runners-up of the cup.

He signed off by saying that he wished to achieve all his ambitions with the team very shortly.
