“The fact is that our task was complicated after the last draw against Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli,” said Al Ain defender Khalid Abdul Rahman stressing the importance of Al Ain’s victory over Iranian Zob Ahan Isfahan. He added, “Our match against the Iranian team was critical and crucial to us. We have no choice but to win. We entered this match to win and that was our priority regardless of our performance. Thank God who helped us in achieving our goal.”
Regarding the injury he suffered from during the match, he said, “I felt a pain in the back muscle in the 55th minute and tried to complete the match, but the pain was so severe. Despite my great desire to continue but the team’s interest prompted me to demand a change directly to give the chance for another technically ready player to substitute me. The most important thing for us in the back line was not to receive any goal.”
