Matar Al Sahbani: The Pledge Made by The Players in Azadi Stadium Made Me Confident They Will Beat the Iranian Team

Matar Obaid Al Dhahiri, Al-Sahbani, Manager of Al Ain First Football Team, expressed his deep appreciation to the team’s players, technical staff as well as the loyal Ainawi Nation for their dedicated efforts ended by achieving a record result at the expense of the Iranian team and to qualify to the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2017.

Al-Sahbani said, “Al Ain players made their own word in the changing room assigned to them at Azadi Stadium, subsequent to the first leg match, to defeat the Iranian team by a result that guarantees qualification to the quarter-finals and celebrate their victory with the team’s at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. I saw the determination to win the match in the eyes of all players. This is why I assured the fans following the first leg match that the Iranian team will fly back home from Al Ain City as a looser.”

As for the requirements of the coming phase, he pointed out that, “We have to prepare well for the next round. We are fully aware that the UAE and Al Ain fans are waiting for the robust achievements of Al Ain in the Asian championship. Therefore, we have to change the current arrangements and bringing in the appropriate replacements who can enhance the image of the team. No doubt that the Club’s Management is able to prepare the team in the right manner in line with the requirements of the coming stages.”

Commenting on the question on the team’s inability to take part in the AFC Champions League 2018, he stated that, “There is no choice but to win the title of the AFC Champions League 2017.”
