“It was a difficult match, especially in the first half where the home team showed a strong desire to control the match and we know well that they are physically strong and ready for the match,” the head coach of Al Ain Pedro Emmanuel stated in the post-match press conference of matchweek 18 of the Arabian Gulf League.

He added: “We tried our best to score an early goal, but we conceded the first goal and then we levelled up the result. However, the home team were able to score their second goal and win the match’s result. I will not talk about whether the penalty kicks are right or not as it is not my specialist. Indeed, the match was stopped many times during the second half and the match referee added 6 minutes and then additional one minute as added-on time. This killed the enthusiasm and make the players nervous.”

He stated that his team got several chances to take the lead through Wilson Edwardo and Erik, but in vain and by the end of the day Al Dhafra win the match.

He pointed out that this week is the mirror of the conditions experienced by the team in the first round in preparation for Al Dhafra match as Nakajima, Ahmad Barman and Ali Al Blooshi got injured.

Pedro signed off by stressing that the team will fight until the end of the season.
