The Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain First Team, Zoran Mamic stressed that his team is required to maintain their top position in the League’s standing saying that “Our match against Emirates FC comes after three successive victories in the league. We do want to continue thus trend as well as improve our level of performance, especially after the improper performance during the previous round against Ajman.”

“For sure Emirates Team has quality players, especially in the front line. Indeed, we have to show signs of aggressivity and play in a balanced style in all lines,” added he.

During the pre-match press conference dedicated for the match against Emirates Team, Mamic said: “I had a meeting with the players and addressed all mistakes committed during the previous match against Ajman Team. Definitely, we look forward to show a better level of performance during our next confrontations in the various competitions.”

Responding to a question on the fluctuation of the team’s performance could be attributed to lack of seriousness in training sessions, he said: “I do not think there is any lack of seriousness during the training sessions of the team. However, the most crucial reasons for the fluctuation of their performance is the absence of certain key players like Amoory and Ismael Ahmad who are always of an added value to the team’s efforts.” He also further explained, “I mentioned during the post-match press conference following our match against Ajman Team that in the light of Amoory’s absence, the team’s performance is different and we are forced to change our style of playing. It is a fact worldwide that strong performance of a team is attributed to certain key players, such as Ramos and Ronaldo for Real Madrid and Pique and Messi for Barcelona.”

He went on to say, “I visited Omar Abdul Rahman in the rehabilitation center in Dubai and it planned that he is going to rejoin the squad within two or three weeks. He did not take part in the team’s training sessions regularly since May. I repeat here that the team without Amoory looks different. Also, not to forget that Amer Abdul Rahman rejoined the team after being absent for nearly eight months due to injury, as well as Dyanfres Douglas, Mohammed Ahmed and Ryan Yaslam in addition to the players absent due to injury. However, this is not an excuse for the decline in the team’s performance.”

“The Ainawi fans have the right to express their opinions due to their fondness and attachment to their club, but many of them do not know what is happening in reality. Fans should not be distressed for not participating in the AFC Champions League. Next year, we will have a greater chance and absolutely not being part of the coming continental    championship is not disastrous,” said he in response to a comment on the state of disappointment Al Ain fans are experiencing following the announcement of not participating in the Asian championship on grounds of Al Ain’s failure to obtain the Asian license.

He added” “It’s good to be part of the Asian championship not only for the sake of participation, but as a competitor to win the title. Currently, we are focusing on improving our level of performance and preparing and developing the potentials of team’s young players to compete intensely and clinch the title of next edition of the AFC Championship League.”

On absences of the team players in the coming confrontation, he said: “We will certainly miss Omar Abdul Rahman and his brother Mohammed Abdul Rahman “Ajab” due to injury. As for Ismail Ahmed, he is not fully ready of the match and will not play for 90 minutes. Bandar Al Ahbabi is suffering from a minor injury and we will assess his conditions during tomorrow’s final training session.  Meanwhile, Dyanfres Douglas was sick during the previous period and Caio did not participate in yesterday’s training session. It is scheduled for Mohamed Fayez to rejoin Team B following a long period of absence and I do wish him all the best and to rejoin the first team sooner to enhance the lines of Al Ain squad.”
When asked about not granting Shiotani the chance to play as midfielder particularly he enjoys the offensive tendency and able to create the desired added value, he replied: “I believe that the player enjoys superior skills to play in more than one position which is a bless to the team but not for himself as he is tasked to carry out specific duties. Shiotani can score goals and create chances and previously he scored numerous goals with his ex-team in Japan.” He concluded by saying, “The Assistant of the Head Coach of Japan National Team will attend our match against Emirates Team to assess his performance.”
