Al Ain Manager Matar Obeid Al Daheri, “Al Sahbani”, has stressed that the results of friendly games should not be an evaluation tool of the real outcome of the pre-season programs.
In statements following Al Ain’s friendly game against Ahli of Saudi in Austria, Al Sahbani said that friendly games are considered as powerful and serious training sessions with the aim of achieving technical and physical gains regardless the result of the game.
“The Head Coach Zoran Mamic was keen on having two different line-ups in the game’s two halves,” the team manager said; pointing out that the squad of the Garden City club had a great performance against the Saudi giants.
He noted that Al Ahli’s starting line-up included the team’s main players, including Omar Al Somah and Giannis Fetfatzidis, stressing that the two teams achieved the desired target out of the game.
Talking about youngsters, Al Sahbani said that the Croatian Head Coach has seen the performance of certain young players who were on fire at the game.
As for the injured players, the team official said that they have intensive training sessions in morning and night as well as recovery program at the health club of the hotel.
The camp programs are ongoing as per the plans of the coach, Al Sahbani said, noting that the environments in the team camp are comfy and promising.
The UAE giants are planned to face Azerbaijan’s FC Baku by the end of this month; the second friendly game of Al Ain.
