The “Boss” and “King” Ended in A Thrilling Draw

The “Boss” was held to a thrilling 3-3 draw by the “King” in the match held at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in matchweek 6 of the Arabian Gulf League.

The first half of the match by 1-1 each. Al Ain scored their three goals by Amer Abdul Rahman “36”, Tsukasa Shiotani “61” and Marcus Berg “84”. In their turn, Al Sharjah scored their three goals by Issa Ahmed Santo “26”, Omar Jumaa “58”, Vander Viera from a penalty kick “90 + 4”.

With this draw, Al Ain are tied on 14 points with leaders Al Wasl, while Al Sharjah remains at the bottom with four points.

Kickoff Scenario

Since the kickoff whistle of the confrontation, it was apparent that Al Ain to snatch the lead by an early goal by imposing absolute control on all the details of the match. Quite the reverse, the visitors adopted a close compact defense to encounter all Al Ain players’ offensive attempts and trying to launch swift offensive counter-attacks.

The visitors managed to take the lead from a “stray” cross sent by Issa Ahmed Santo from the left side of Al Ain goalkeeper Khaled Issa before it rattled the inside of the far post and nestled into the net to be the first goal of the match “26”.

The “Boss” resumed their offensive style by exerting pressure from the depth and flanks till the moment they were able to decode Al Sharjah defense encryption by a stunning goal held the signature of the “Maestro” Amer Abdul Rahman. Amer was well positioned and waited for a strong shot sent by Caio Lucas from out of the box to hit Al Sharjah defenders and Al Ain strikers prior reaching Amer who sent it muscularly with sharp and sound intelligence and great technical vision to be nestled in the very far away corner which the goalkeeper, Ahmad Dida could not deal with it. That was the leveling goal of Al Ain and back to square zero “36”.

The match referee sent off Al Ain defender Mohannad Salem Al Enezi with a red card in his pocket following a violation he made against Al Sharjah Wilton Soares “42”. The two teams ended the first half of the game with 1-1 draw.

Al Sharjah took the lead again through their striker Omar Jumaa who managed to translate a cross from the left side sent by Wilton Soares who fired it directly to the back nets of Khaled Issa announcing the second goal for the visitors “58”.

The lead was short-lived as Al Ain’s response came hastily through Japan’s Tsukasa Shiotani who was spotted Al Sharjah goalkeeper Ahmed Dida away from the three posts and lobbed the ball over him who could not control it and slipping between his hands and into the net and back to square zero again “61”.

Marcus Berg added Al Ain’s third goal in the game when he translated a tiki-taka passes started by Amer a fixed kick outside the box and was met by Douglas’ cushioned header for Marcus Berg who sent directly to the far corner of the visitors’ net “84”.

In stoppage time, the referee awarded a penalty for Al Sharjah executed by Vander Vieira   successfully in the right corner earning his team a late point “90 + 4”.
