Abu Dhabi Football Club Tournament Includes Al Ain, Al Wahda, Al Dhafra, and Bani Yas

Pedro Emanual will hold a press conference about the team’s preparations

Sultan Rashid, Supervisor of Al Ain First Football Team, extended his sincerest appreciation and gratitude for all the authorities in charge of the safety and health of the UAE citizens and residents, particularly sports councils, UAEFA and PLC for their critical role in adopting and implementing the best global practices while practicing collective sports activities despite the current conditions.

Responding to a question on Al Ain Football Team during the upcoming period, he stated: “First of all, I would like to thank the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) again for adopting the developmental ideas, inspiring the marketing initiatives and motivating investment projects of Emirati sports in general and clubs of Abu Dhabi in particular.”

“We recently have received the ADSC’s approval and support following the issuance of the matches protocol circulated by the UAEFA in organizing a friendly tournament that includes Bani Yas, Al Dhafra, Al Wahda and the host club, Al Ain,” Sultan added.

He announced that the tournament is scheduled to be held during 22-28 August 2020 in Al Ain City under the supervision of the Al Ain Club Investment Company.

Sultan also revealed that a virtual press conference would be held in the few upcoming days where the head coach Pedro Emmanuel would tackle issues related to the preseason camp in an exceptional time never experienced by the football game.

“On the next few days, we are holding a press conference to keep the media and fans updated about the team’s preparations and respond to all their questions. It would be an online press conference in line with the approved protocol and the precautionary measures adopted by all sports clubs in the UAE.”

Commenting on a question about the friendly tournament proposal, he said: “The main idea behind organizing this tournament is to show how important the friendlies are during the preseason preparations, regardless of the participating clubs.”

“Our preparations for the new season would be incomplete if we are not playing matches and be entering the atmosphere of actual matches, given that the clubs participating in the AFC Champions League 2020 have bigger challenges, and this is why are so keen to complete our preparations in the right manner.”

He concluded his statement by emphasizing that proper preparations are the most important precautionary measure to protect players from injuries in the upcoming season.
