We Focus on our Issues with All Due Respect to Al Wahda
We Analyzed the Team Performance and Addressed Mistakes Committed
We Expect Massive Support from Ainawi Fans

“All went as planned in preparation for matchweek 6 of ADNOC Pro League against Al Wahda. However, we did analyze our squad’s performance to handle all mistakes committed in our recent match against Al Orooba,” Sergiy Rebrov stated in the pre-match press conference held today at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium.

The Boss head coach responded to a question on how he feels as this is the first derby he plays this season with Al Ain Team by saying: “Derby matches are always special ones. We analyzed the opponents’ performance and set up plans to help us achieve our goals. Indeed, our strategy is designed to focus on the team’s issues in the first place, considering that we are playing at home and among our fans. Our objectives will never change, i.e., we play to snatch the match’s three points.”

Commenting on the statement that all the team’s previous matches were not similar to this derby, he said: “We do respect any opponent regardless of their position on the standing table. I was so keen to analyze Al Ain matches of the last season and found that the team lost most of the points when they played against teams who were not competing to win the title. This season we enjoy the mentality of winning all opponents and be at the highest levels of concentration. The team is all set to play against Al Wahda, and sights are set to win the match.”

He added that the Boss squad is fully ready to play against any team, and they are up to it. He pointed out that all they need is to be supported by the fans, mainly it is a derby match, “which is always associated with high pressures. So we have to know how to clinch the three points, and we all required to spare no effort to make the fans happy.”

Replying plainly to a question on Al Wahda’s new Portuguese player, Fabio Martens, who is expected to play the derby, he said: “I have no clue if he is going to play next match or not. I stated earlier that we only focus on our team’s issues. We would play next match at home and among our fans and sights set to win the three points.”

He signed off by saying that he knows the opponent well and that they have good strikers, and this pushes us to boost the concentration level as of the kickoff whistle until the last minute of the match.
