Al Ain defender Rashid Muhair stressed the importance of exhibiting a great performance against Al Nasr in the final round of group stage of the Arabian Gulf Cup wishing his team all the best to return back home form Dubai with the three points.
Al Ain defender said: “Our team will be missing important and influential players, the matter that raise the bar of our responsibilities and to push ourselves to the limit to defend the club’s logo in the face of all competitors. Also, we will do our best just to be up to the Coach’s confidence and meet the expectations of the Club’s management and the Ainawi fans.”
“We are well aware that the opportunity we have in the Arabian Gulf Cup is very precious and we have to make use of it in the right way, so that we can achieve the desired results from our participation, i.e. to play honorably and back to back with the players of expertise, in addition to increase our minutes of playing in official matches with the team,” added he.
On the impact of the team’s qualification on their performance in the coming match, he commented: “I believe that Al Ain and Al Nasr matches in all competitions are historical ones. Therefore, qualifying will not change the situation with regard to the team’s performance in the coming confrontation. Quite the reverse, we will do our best to win the match and confirm our eligibility to qualify for the quarter-finals. “
