With Berg’s Brace The “Boss” Wins Al Nasr and Regains Top Position with Al Wasl

Al Ain squad played one of their best matches in the Arabian Gulf League hosting Al Nasr Team in the top clash of matchweek 10 at Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium to achieve a deserved win over “Al Ameed” by a two goals held the signature of Sweden’s “international” striker Marcus Berg.

The first half of the match ended with even draw where Al Nasr took the lead when Mauro Zarate scored at the 8th minute, but Marcos Berg equalized from a penalty kick at the 34th minute. In the second half, Berg was able to score his personal goal at 61st minute regaining the lead to the “Boss”.

By this result, Al Ain catches up with Al Wasl with a balance of 22 points, while Al Nasr freezes at 14 points and drops to sixth place.

Since the kickoff whistle, Al Ain showed a strong desire to settle the results early and t take the lead. Brazil’s striker Douglas Dyanfres had a perfect opportunity to put his team in the lead in the 5th minute when he received a “charming” pass from Al Ain’s captain, Omar Abdul Rahman, to find himself in a full-fledged position with Al Nasr’s goalkeeper, but sent a powerful shot to the middle of the three posts to hit the goalkeeper and bounced out of the box to be a corner kick which was not invested well by the Ainawis. However, Al Nasr was able to score the lead taking advantage of counter attack through Zarate who controlled his ball and sending it powerfully in the far corner of Khaled Issa’s goal announcing Al Nasr’s first goal at the 8th minute.

Al Nasr managed to score the first goal of the first cross-attack attempt by Zarate, who managed to control a pass from a strong shot in a far corner announcing the first goal of the match.

Al Ain tried to compensate and back to square one through intensive attacks from depth and flanks. In one of these attacks, Omar Abdul Rahman sent a powerful shot from outside the box, but Al Nasr’s goalkeeper managed to control it with a high concentration “17”.

Brazilian Dyanfres Douglas led an organized attack that ended by a violation against him at the edge of the box. Amoory sent perfectly to the backside where Saeed Jumaa intercepted it with a strong header into the empty goal of Al Nasr, but it passed the post at “29”.

Swedish international striker Marcus Berg led an organized attack where he penetrated into Al Nasr’s box forcing defender Joan Al Omari to block him from the back. Consequently, the referee pointed to the penalty point and Burg translated the shot into a goal equalizing the result at 33rd minute.

Al Ain entered the second half holding up the victory logo as the team’s squad imposed a total siege on the guests within their area of operations. One of the missed shots was Amoory’s who launched a powerful shot at the edge of Al Nasr box to slightly pass the middle bar “52”.

Markus Berg managed to translate a tiki-taka passes started by Amoory when he sent a loop pass over Al Nasr defenders which was skillfully received by Ryan who by head turned it to Marcos who easily scored it into Al Nasr nets at “61”.

Al Ain went on launching their strikes in an attempt to settle the result of the match by scoring more two or three goals. However, Al Nasr defenders and the goalkeeper brilliantly defended the goal till the end and the final result was 2-1.
