Croatia’s Head Coach of Al Ain First Team, Zoran Mamic, stated in the post-match conference dedicated for the match of his team against Bahrain’s Malkiya that he is “Happy that my team qualify to the groups stage of ACL2018 but so annoyed by the injuries of Ahmad Barman and Omar Abdul Rahman.” The match ended by Al Ain winning the visitors by two clean goals.

He also said: “Amoory’s and Barman’s injury requires a further x-ray to be conducted Wednesday morning to identify the injury seriousness and based on that we will determine the time to rejoin the team. I wish them a speed recovery and rejoin the team shortly.”

“Amoory is the best player in Asia and he is announced by the AFC to be Man of the Match despite he was not in his best day in today’s match,” commenting he on awarding Amoory the AFC title of Man of the Match. He added: “Amoory is an important player to the team and had he played in his day the team will look stronger against Malkiya.”

“I urged the players to show their true fighting spirit and be more serious. Indeed, if you do not play football in the right manner, you will definitely face problems,” said he. He further pointed out: “We are focusing now on our next match against Ajman in the Arabian Gulf League and we understand that our mission will not be so easy.”

On the reasons why he did not let Ahmad Khalil play in this match, he said: “Khalil has not played official matches during the past months and I did give him the chance to play in Al Ain’s recent three matches. Therefore, I preferred to keep him on the bench today and for the same reasons I withdrew Hussein El Shahat who plays for long minutes with the team during the past matches.”

He concluded by commenting on Al Ain’s level of readiness to the ACL2018 group stage: “Absolutely, Al Ain’s squad has the best players and they will be ready for all challenges. However, we are focusing at the moment on our coming match against Ajman.”
